Android: Show maximum number of major date ticks without overlap

I’m wondering if there is a way to tell a DateTimeAxis to show the maximum number of major ticks that it can without the labels overlapping. By default, as you zoom out, it seems to go from 1min frequency, to 5 minute frequency, to 15 minute frequency, etc., and this sometimes leaves a lot of empty space between gid lines, sometimes only showing 1 or two lines on a full screen graph. Ideally in my particular case, just eyeballing it, it could easily go from 1 min, to 2 min, to 4 min, to 10 min…something like that.

Hi Doug,

We don’t currently provide this kind of option, however you can certainly set the major tick frequency manually depending on the zoom:

-(void)sChart:(ShinobiChart *)chart setMajorTickFrequency:(id * const)majorTickFrequency andMinorTickFrequency:(id * const)minorTickFrequency onGeneratingTickMarksforAxis:(SChartAxis *)axis;

Implementing this will provide you with a flexible way to do this :slight_smile:

Hope this helps!
