Compile shader error

#1

I got this on my GT-P7500R:

java.lang.Error: Compile shader
    at com.shinobicontrols.charts.SChartGLErrorHandler.handleErrorImpl(SourceFile:16)
    at com.shinobicontrols.charts.SChartGLDrawer.endRender(Native Method)
    at com.shinobicontrols.charts.y.onDrawFrame(SourceFile:124)
    at com.shinobicontrols.charts.GLSurfaceView$f.l(SourceFile:1552)
    at com.shinobicontrols.charts.GLSurfaceView$f.run(SourceFile:1269)

This happened while I was zooming in on a chart.

Thoughts?

Hi Radu,

Can I ask what version of Android your GT-P7500R is running? Am I right in thinking that’s a Samsung Galaxy Tab (10.1) 3G version?

Kind regards,

Patrick

It’s running 3.2. It is a Galaxy Tab 10.1 with 3G indeed.

Hi Radu,

It looks like the issue you’re seeing here is the related to the known issue described in our ChangeLog (though this is the first time it’s been reported on the 3G version of the Galaxy Tab, but it makes sense it would also affect it).

It seems the issue is being caused by a Samsung driver bug which has been fixed for newer devices but, currently, there are no plans for it to be fixed in older devices (such as the Galaxy Tab and also the S2). We have spent some time investigating this issue ourselves but unfortunately cannot offer any workaround from our end.

There are various references to this across the web - one such being http://stackoverflow.com/questions/15771971/anr-textureview-on-galaxy-s2-gpu-driver-issue.

Kind regards,

Patrick
